Scammers May Be Pretending to Call You from CIB Bank
06.25.2026
Recently, there has been another surge in incidents in which scammers contact our customers by phone, claiming to represent CIB Bank. During these calls, they often claim that someone has attempted to withdraw money from the customer’s account, and they therefore request confidential bank card security details beyond the card number itself, such as the Phone Identification Code or verification codes sent by text message.
It is important to know that, although the bank card number may be mentioned during a transaction to verify the customer’s identity, CIB Bank employees never ask for bank card security details — such as the CVV code or expiration date — the Phone Identification Code, or verification codes received by text message. Scammers may even spoof the bank’s official phone number; the displayed number alone is no guarantee of security.
If you receive a suspicious call, do not disclose any confidential information, do not transfer money to a “secure account,” do not install any apps at the caller’s request, and hang up immediately. Always verify the inquiry using CIB Bank’s official contact details, and ask for verification through an official CIB Bank channel. This way, you can make sure that you are actually speaking with a CIB Bank employee.
Never disclose your Phone Identification Code or any codes you receive by text message to anyone!
